Shopify Agency for Dubai Brands, in Arabic and English

A Gulf storefront has to work right-to-left, take the payment methods people here actually use, and stop losing money to cash on delivery. We build the version that does all three.

Dubai is eleven hours ahead of Albuquerque, and the honest version is that the overlap is narrow: your evening, from around 7pm, is our morning. We hold calls there, run everything else asynchronously, and write handovers carefully because a missed question costs a day rather than an hour.

The market

What selling online in Dubai actually looks like

Dubai's trade economy is built on re-export, and that shapes everything downstream. Jebel Ali is the largest container port in the Middle East and the free zone attached to it holds thousands of trading companies moving goods onward into the Gulf, East Africa and South Asia. Deira and the gold and spice souks still run centuries-old trading relationships in physical goods. Dragon Mart in International City is the largest Chinese trading hub outside China. Al Quoz is where the warehouses, studios and light manufacturing sit, and it has quietly become the address for founder-run product brands. Business Bay, JLT and Dubai Design District hold the office and showroom layer above it.

The consumer categories reflect a young, high-income, extremely mobile-first population that is majority expatriate. Modest fashion and abayas are a real industry with real export demand. Fragrance and oud, cosmetics, hair and skincare all perform strongly. Gold and fine jewellery has a trading base most cities cannot match. Home fragrance, gifting, dates and premium confectionery peak hard around Ramadan and Eid. The seasonal shape is unlike anywhere in the US: the retail calendar runs from October through April, Ramadan reorders demand and buying hours entirely, and the summer months see a genuine population dip as residents travel.

How we help Dubai brands sell more

Each page covers how we run that service specifically for Dubai brands — the local context, the constraints, and what we deliver.

Design & Build in Dubai

Custom Shopify and Shopify Plus storefronts designed around your catalogue, built in clean Liquid, and launched with a measured conversion baseline.

Plus & Headless in Dubai

Plus-tier engineering for brands that have outgrown a standard theme: checkout extensions, Shopify Functions, B2B, Markets and headless Hydrogen storefronts.

Migrate to Shopify in Dubai

Move to Shopify with your catalogue, customers, order history and organic traffic intact. Redirect parity is signed off before we touch DNS.

Conversion Optimisation in Dubai

A continuous experimentation programme on your Shopify store: research, hypotheses, prioritised tests and every result reported in full, losers included.

eCommerce SEO in Dubai

Technical and content SEO built for Shopify catalogues, plus generative engine optimisation so your products surface inside AI answers.

Google Ads in Dubai

Google Ads for Shopify catalogues: Merchant Center feed health, Shopping and Performance Max structure, brand and non-brand separated, and weekly query mining.

Meta Ads in Dubai

Facebook and Instagram for Shopify brands: Advantage+ and catalogue campaigns, Conversions API signal repair, a creative cadence that outruns fatigue, and geo holdouts to check the claim.

Marketplace Channel in Dubai

Amazon, TikTok Shop and Walmart run as a discovery channel that feeds your Shopify store, with listings, PPC and margin managed together.

Klaviyo Email & SMS in Dubai

Klaviyo built as a retention system: behavioural flows, RFM segmentation, SMS used sparingly, and owned channels pushed toward 25-40% of total revenue.

Creative & Content in Dubai

Static, video and UGC creative produced on a monthly testing calendar, plus the product photography and page content your store and ads run on.

Analytics & Data in Dubai

GA4, server-side tracking, Conversions API and consent mode implemented properly, plus reporting that ties every channel back to contribution margin.

Apps & Support in Dubai

A named Shopify developer and strategist on a fixed sprint cadence: app stack owned, theme kept clean, ranked backlog shipped every month. The first stabilisation pass typically cancels around $1,840/mo of redundant app spend.

Verticals

Who we build for in Dubai

The categories that dominate Dubai’s commerce economy — and what each one needs from a Shopify build.

01

Modest fashion & abayas

Made-to-measure options, fabric detail and modelling that respects the category need proper variant and metafield structure, not a generic apparel theme.

02

Fragrance & oud

Sampling and discovery sets solve the online scent problem, and refill or decant formats give you a genuine repurchase cycle to build flows around.

03

Gold & fine jewellery

Prices that move with metal rates need dynamic pricing logic, and high AOV needs fraud rules that do not decline the orders you most want.

04

Beauty, hair & skincare

Bilingual ingredient and usage content plus replenishment subscriptions turn a heavily influencer-driven first purchase into a repeat customer.

05

Dates, gifting & premium confectionery

Ramadan and Eid compress a year of demand into weeks, so corporate gifting, bulk ordering and delivery-date selection have to be built before the season.

Why us, here

What we do differently for Dubai brands

RTL built into the theme, not patched on

Direction affects grids, carousels, icons, form fields, PDF invoices and email templates. We build and QA both directions as one storefront so the Arabic experience is the equal of the English one.

Moving customers off cash on delivery

COD costs you failed deliveries, cash handling and a customer you cannot remarket to. We do it with incentives, wallet and instalment options at checkout, and order-tracking communication that earns enough trust for the next order to be prepaid.

A calendar built around Ramadan and Eid

Buying hours shift, creative changes, and the peak is compressed. We plan storefront, offers and flows against the Hijri calendar and the October-to-April season, not against a North American retail year.

Premium Skincare (DTC)

8-figure DTC brand, ~140 SKUs, US + CA · Shopify Plus (migrated from Magento 2)

Magento 2 cost $9k a month in hosting, extensions and emergency dev before a single feature shipped. Mobile LCP sat at 5.4 seconds and mobile converted at less than half the desktop rate across 68% of sessions. The named constraint: 11,412 indexed URLs and a top-3 organic position on their hero category, so a migration that lost rankings would cost more than the platform ever saved.

~$6M/yr DTC, 900+ SKUs across size and colour variants, US · Shopify Plus

Returns ran at 31% and refund cost consumed the entire paid media margin. One size chart image served 40 different fits, and 62% of add-to-carts started on a collection page that never showed variant availability. The named constraint: no new product photography budget, so every fix had to come out of the existing asset library and the review corpus.

FAQ

Working with us from Dubai

No. ConversionEX is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and we serve UAE clients remotely. We hold no UAE trade licence, free zone or mainland, and we have no staff in the Emirates. Anything requiring a local licensed entity is not something we can be.

Yes, but the theme decides how well. Shopify supports multiple languages and right-to-left rendering, and the work is making sure every component mirrors correctly — navigation, filters, cart drawer, checkout, transactional emails and any app that injects its own markup. Apps are the usual failure point, so we test the Arabic path end to end rather than assuming translation coverage means it works.

Usually yes at first, then deliberately less. Removing it overnight costs you orders in a market where it is still a normal expectation, but keeping it as the default guarantees failed deliveries and a customer list with no payment relationship. The workable path is offering a small incentive for prepayment, making cards, wallets and instalment options obvious at checkout, and tracking the COD share as a number you are actively reducing.

Treat each country as its own market with its own currency, shipping rates and delivery promise, and get the customs and product-conformity requirements checked before you advertise there — Saudi in particular has registration and labelling requirements that catch exporters out. Arabic-first content matters far more there than it does for a Dubai audience that shops comfortably in English.

It affects who you can sell to domestically and how you invoice, and that is a question for your licensing advisor rather than for us. What it changes on our side is practical: which entity is on the invoices, which VAT treatment applies, and how the Shopify Payments or gateway account is set up. We build around whatever structure you already have.
