High order values need deposit flows, authentication content and servicing or repair booking built into the same store.
Switzerland is a small home market with unusually high spending power and a customs border on every side. We build Shopify stores that handle both facts at once.
Zurich is eight hours ahead of Mountain Time, so the shared working window is narrow and predictable: your late afternoon, roughly 16:00 to 19:00, is our morning. Meetings live there, and the rest of the relationship runs on written updates you read at the start of your day rather than on ad hoc messaging.
Zurich is the commercial centre of a country whose reputation is built on precision manufacturing and premium goods, and its trading districts still show the pattern. Bahnhofstrasse is one of the most concentrated luxury retail streets in Europe. Zürich-West, the old Escher-Wyss industrial quarter, has become the studio, agency and small-brand district. Oerlikon and Altstetten carry light manufacturing and logistics. Along the lake, the western shore holds a chocolate and food industry with a century behind it. The typical merchant here is not a startup burning capital — it is a profitable, conservative, family-held company with excellent product, strong margins and a website that has never been asked to do much work.
Two structural facts shape every Swiss ecommerce build. First, Switzerland sits outside the EU customs union, so a Zurich brand selling to Berlin or Milan is exporting: customs paperwork, import VAT for the buyer, and a landed cost that has to be shown up front or the order gets refused at the door. Domestic Swiss VAT sits at its own rate and there is a registration threshold that catches foreign sellers shipping small consignments in the other direction. Second, checkout expectations are genuinely local. TWINT is the default mobile payment, buying on invoice is normal rather than exotic, and delivery is measured against Swiss Post's standards. There are also rules around what you may call Swiss made — a claim that lives on your product page and has real legal criteria behind it.
Each page covers how we run that service specifically for Zurich brands — the local context, the constraints, and what we deliver.
Custom Shopify and Shopify Plus storefronts designed around your catalogue, built in clean Liquid, and launched with a measured conversion baseline.
Plus-tier engineering for brands that have outgrown a standard theme: checkout extensions, Shopify Functions, B2B, Markets and headless Hydrogen storefronts.
Move to Shopify with your catalogue, customers, order history and organic traffic intact. Redirect parity is signed off before we touch DNS.
A continuous experimentation programme on your Shopify store: research, hypotheses, prioritised tests and every result reported in full, losers included.
Technical and content SEO built for Shopify catalogues, plus generative engine optimisation so your products surface inside AI answers.
Google Ads for Shopify catalogues: Merchant Center feed health, Shopping and Performance Max structure, brand and non-brand separated, and weekly query mining.
Facebook and Instagram for Shopify brands: Advantage+ and catalogue campaigns, Conversions API signal repair, a creative cadence that outruns fatigue, and geo holdouts to check the claim.
Amazon, TikTok Shop and Walmart run as a discovery channel that feeds your Shopify store, with listings, PPC and margin managed together.
Klaviyo built as a retention system: behavioural flows, RFM segmentation, SMS used sparingly, and owned channels pushed toward 25-40% of total revenue.
Static, video and UGC creative produced on a monthly testing calendar, plus the product photography and page content your store and ads run on.
GA4, server-side tracking, Conversions API and consent mode implemented properly, plus reporting that ties every channel back to contribution margin.
A named Shopify developer and strategist on a fixed sprint cadence: app stack owned, theme kept clean, ranked backlog shipped every month. The first stabilisation pass typically cancels around $1,840/mo of redundant app spend.
The categories that dominate Zurich’s commerce economy — and what each one needs from a Shopify build.
High order values need deposit flows, authentication content and servicing or repair booking built into the same store.
Temperature-sensitive dispatch windows and per-country food import rules belong in shipping logic, not in a customer service inbox.
Claims, ingredient sourcing and Swissness criteria have to survive scrutiny on the product page in every language you publish.
Technical specification, fit and season logic sell hardware that a photo-only product page leaves sitting in inventory.
Small-batch and made-to-order runs need honest lead times and pre-order mechanics rather than a permanent out-of-stock badge.
Districts we work across
Duties and import VAT collected at checkout, DDP where it makes commercial sense, and IOSS used for low-value EU consignments. Refused parcels are expensive twice, and they are almost always a configuration failure.
German, French and English storefronts through Shopify Markets rather than three separate sites with three separate inventories drifting apart. Product, filters, cart and email all switch together.
TWINT, buy-on-invoice and card, with Swiss Post delivery options presented the way local buyers expect. A Swiss buyer offered only international card methods does not complain about it. She simply does not come back.
Client names withheld under NDA. Figures come from their own Shopify Analytics, GA4 and Search Console.
All case studies8-figure DTC brand, ~140 SKUs, US + CA · Shopify Plus (migrated from Magento 2)
Magento 2 cost $9k a month in hosting, extensions and emergency dev before a single feature shipped. Mobile LCP sat at 5.4 seconds and mobile converted at less than half the desktop rate across 68% of sessions. The named constraint: 11,412 indexed URLs and a top-3 organic position on their hero category, so a migration that lost rankings would cost more than the platform ever saved.
~$6M/yr DTC, 900+ SKUs across size and colour variants, US · Shopify Plus
Returns ran at 31% and refund cost consumed the entire paid media margin. One size chart image served 40 different fits, and 62% of add-to-carts started on a collection page that never showed variant availability. The named constraint: no new product photography budget, so every fix had to come out of the existing asset library and the review corpus.
Lombardy makes products the rest of Europe buys, and most of that trade still runs through wholesale. We build the direct channel underneath it — one Shopify store that sells in Italian at home and in four languages abroad.
FranceFrance buys differently: its own card scheme, pickup points over doorsteps, instalment payment as standard, and a sale calendar set by decree. We build Shopify stores that respect all four.
NetherlandsA small home market attached to the best distribution network in Europe. We build Amsterdam brands a Shopify store that sells in Dutch at home and in four more currencies across the border.
Thirty minutes with the strategist who would actually run your account. We screen-share your store, read your data live, and tell you the three highest-value things we can see from the outside.
