Marketplace Management in Dublin

An Irish brand's marketplace volume mostly sits on someone else's national storefront, which makes the channel useful for reach and dangerous as a business model.

Delivered remotely for brands across Dublin and Ireland.

Why Dublin brands come to us for this

  • amazon.ie opened as the domestic storefront and amazon.co.uk as the volume one, with the mainland EU stores and eBay added only where the category earns them
  • UK VAT, EORI and EU extended producer responsibility registrations sorted before stock moves, not after a listing is blocked
  • Titles and backend terms written in British and American buying vocabulary, with provenance moved into A+ and Brand Story
  • Variations parented so reviews and rank pool on one listing instead of scattering across orphans
  • Marketplace catalogue deliberately narrower than your own store, so a referral fee never buys you a customer you already had

Amazon opened a dedicated Irish store in March 2025, which changed the starting point without changing the arithmetic. amazon.ie gives you a domestic storefront with a Dublin fulfilment centre behind it, and it is worth having — but it is a young marketplace serving a country of a little over five million people, so the volume that pays for the work still sits on amazon.co.uk and the mainland European storefronts, with eBay where the category holds a used and enthusiast trade and Etsy for the makers whose whole proposition is that a person made the thing. That is the first fact of the channel here: your home storefront is domestic and your growth storefronts are not, which changes the fee, the freight and the paperwork before it changes anything about the listing.

The second fact is Brexit. Stock moving from a Dublin warehouse into a British fulfilment centre is an export followed by an import, and holding inventory in Britain means a UK VAT registration and an EORI to go with your Irish one. Selling into the EU storefronts from Irish stock keeps you inside the single market but pulls in extended producer responsibility registrations and the packaging obligations that go with them. None of that is exotic — it is just work that has to be finished before a listing can trade properly, and it is the thing we most often find half-done on an inherited account.

Then the listings themselves, which for Irish brands are usually written for the wrong reader. Provenance sells the product on your own site, where a shopper has arrived through a story; on a marketplace the shopper arrives through a search box and reads a title. So titles lead with the noun and the specification, the origin claim moves into A+ and Brand Story modules where it has room to work, variations get a parent so reviews pool instead of scattering across six orphan listings, and backend search terms carry the vocabulary a British or American buyer uses rather than the one you use in Dublin.

Diaspora demand arrives on Amazon before it arrives on your store

The single largest pool of demand for Irish goods sits outside Ireland, in the hands of buyers who type 'Irish wool blanket' or 'Claddagh ring' into Amazon rather than into Google, and who will buy from whoever holds the buy box that week. That is exactly what a marketplace is good at and exactly why it is worth running — you cannot reach a first-time buyer in Boston any cheaper. It is also why the channel has to be bounded. If your best-selling knitwear line is priced the same on Amazon and on your own store, you are paying a referral fee to acquire a customer you would otherwise have kept, and the platform keeps the email. So we split the catalogue deliberately: entry pieces and giftable single units on the marketplace, the full colour and size run, the bundles, the personalisation and the made-to-order work reserved for the store. Seasonality forces the same discipline. Diaspora demand starts building once the January sales are over and is finished within two days of 17 March, and the gifting run ends at whatever the last international dispatch cut-off turns out to be, not at Christmas, which means inventory has to be inside a fulfilment centre weeks before either curve starts — a marketplace peak is won on a stock decision made in the quiet months, not on a bid.

Full service detail
01

Catalogue & Listing Rebuild

Titles, bullets, backend search terms, variation parentage and category nodes rebuilt across Amazon Seller or Vendor Central, TikTok Shop and Walmart. Suppressions and stranded inventory fixed at the cause, not resubmitted.

02

Brand Registry, A+ & Brand Story

Brand Registry enrolment, A+ and Premium A+ modules, Brand Story and Storefront pages built to each platform's image and copy specs. Produced inside this service because the formats are fixed.

03

Sponsored Products, Brands & Display

Campaigns split by intent and margin band, converting search terms promoted to exact, negatives maintained weekly, and targets set from contribution margin instead of a category average.

04

Fulfilment & Fee Economics

FBA against FBM modelled per SKU on size tier, storage, return rate and reimbursement recovery. Some products should never enter a fulfilment centre, and we name which of yours.

05

TikTok Shop & Creator Seeding

Catalogue sync, listing compliance, sample seeding to affiliates, and live and video commerce, run as a mechanic of this channel rather than as a separate affiliate programme.

06

Channel Strategy & the Route Back

SKU allocation, MAP and pricing alignment, marketplace-only bundles and pack sizes, plus the permitted paths home: package inserts, Brand Registry tools and platform-allowed follow-up.

Scoped and quoted for your Dublin store

We do not work off a rate card. Every Dublin engagement starts with a fixed statement of work — named deliverables, named dates, one number — written after we have looked at your store, not before. If a smaller first step would serve you better, we will say so.

How it runs

From kickoff to results

01

Account & Catalogue Audit

Listing quality, suppressions, buy-box history, variation structure, the fee and returns reports and ninety days of search terms. You get the findings whether you hire us or not.

02

Fix the Listings

Parentage, titles, backend terms, imagery and A+ rebuilt before any spend moves. Advertising a listing that converts badly buys traffic for whoever else is in the carousel.

03

Draw the Channel Lines

Which SKUs sell where, at what price, in what pack size, agreed with you in writing. The marketplace should not be bidding against your own store for the same order.

04

Advertise to Margin

Sponsored campaigns rebuilt by intent and margin band, with ACoS and TACoS targets derived from contribution per unit after referral, fulfilment and return costs.

05

Compound & Route Back

Weekly search-term mining, monthly fee and reimbursement review, and the insert and registry mechanics that give a marketplace buyer a reason to reorder on your site.

FAQ

Marketplace Channel in Dublin — your questions

Not separate accounts, but separate thinking. amazon.ie sits inside the same unified European account as amazon.co.uk and the mainland storefronts, with North America as a separate one, so the account admin is manageable. What is not shared is the commercial reality: British listings are now an export from Ireland with customs data attached, the EU storefronts pull in producer-responsibility obligations, and the US is a different fee schedule, a different competitive set and a freight decision. We usually prove one storefront properly before opening the next.

In some categories genuinely, in most not. It holds real weight in the UK and Irish market for parts, tools, collectables, refurbished stock and anything where buyers search by model number, and its fee structure can suit low-volume high-value lines. For a new consumer brand with fresh stock it usually is not where your buyer is looking. We decide it on your category and your margin rather than as a default box to tick.

It works if the two are not the same shop. Etsy's audience is actively searching for handmade, personalised and heritage goods, which is a discovery pool most Irish makers cannot buy access to elsewhere, and it converts on that intent. The mistake is mirroring the full catalogue at the same price, which turns your own storefront into the more expensive option. Keep a bounded range there, use the insert and the packaging to get the product registered with you, keep the refill range on your own site, and watch the share of revenue coming from channels you control.

We run it from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and we have no Irish entity or staff — the same arrangement as every other service we offer you. In this particular case the distance matters less than it might sound, because marketplace work is account operations rather than meetings: case logs, flat files, feed uploads, search-term reports and a weekly written review. The one thing distance genuinely does affect is physical stock, so inbound shipments, prep and any UK or EU freight decision stay with you and your 3PL, and we build the channel plan around what your logistics can actually do.

It can, and that is the failure mode we manage against rather than pretend away. Marketplaces are rented shelf space: the platform owns the shopper, sets the fees and can change both without asking. We use them for the thing they are genuinely good at, which is putting your product in front of people who have never heard of you, then arrange pack sizes, bundles and pricing so the reorder has a reason to happen on your own store.

Not directly, and treat anyone who promises it as a liability. Amazon does not give sellers the buyer's email address, and mining order reports to build a marketing list breaks their terms. The legitimate routes are package inserts offering registration, warranty or a refill incentive, Brand Registry tools such as Customer Engagement and Brand Tailored Promotions that reach your followers inside Amazon, and Buy with Prime on your own storefront where the economics hold. Slower, and it survives an audit.

Google and Meta buy traffic for a store you control. A marketplace is a sales channel with its own search engine, its own ad auction, its own fulfilment network and its own fee schedule. The reporting never reconciles with your Shopify numbers, the failure modes are suppression and buy-box loss rather than creative fatigue, and nothing means anything until the unit economics are modelled after fees.
