Creative Strategy & Concepting
Concepts built from customer reviews, support tickets and competitor teardowns, organised into named angles you can track performance against over time.
Creative volume for Portland brands whose best asset is the workshop, the material and the thing that has been used for ten years.
Delivered remotely for brands across Portland and Oregon.
The creative advantage in this metro is access. Sample rooms, workshops, roasters and repair benches are all inside the same city, which means a single shoot block can produce process footage most DTC brands can only fake with stock. Lasting a boot, welting a sole, sharpening a blade, cupping a roast, stripping and rebuilding a bag — that material tests well because it answers the actual question at this price point, which is whether the thing is worth what you are asking.
Alongside it, the product content the category demands and almost never gets. Scale references so a pack size means something, on-body layering shots so a mid layer reads correctly under a shell, wet-weather and use-in-context footage, macro material detail, side-by-side comparisons against a well-known model, and honest wear imagery of an item after two years. That content does double duty: it is the highest-performing raw material for paid social and it is exactly what the product page needs to reduce a fit or expectation return.
Everything runs on a calendar rather than in bursts. Concepts pulled from reviews, support tickets and return reasons — the language your customers already use about width, break-in, weight and value — organised into named angles with structured variants so performance rolls up by concept rather than by file name. Static, motion and creator content in the ratios each platform needs, produced monthly so the next thing is in the queue before the current winner fatigues.
Production planning here is dictated by light and by season. Portland gets a long wet, grey stretch from late autumn into spring, which is genuinely useful when you need rain-testing footage and genuinely obstructive when you need bright outdoor lifestyle work — and the campaign calendar wants the opposite of what the sky is doing, since autumn and winter assets have to be shot in summer to be ready. So we plan production against that inversion: summer blocks for the autumn and holiday campaigns, deliberate wet-weather days for the proof content that only rain can give you, and studio and workshop work scheduled for the months when outdoor shooting is unreliable. The other local factor is the creator pool. This region has a deep bench of people who actually use technical gear — trail runners, cyclists commuting in the rain, climbers, coffee people — and their content outperforms polished production for this audience because the audience can tell the difference immediately. We source and brief on that basis and secure paid usage rights up front.
The same standard of work we run for every client — applied to a Portland brand’s realities.
Full service detailConcepts built from customer reviews, support tickets and competitor teardowns, organised into named angles you can track performance against over time.
Twenty to forty static, motion and UGC assets a month in the aspect ratios each platform needs, structured for hook, format and angle testing.
Creator briefing, sourcing and management for authentic testimonial, unboxing and demo content, with usage rights secured for paid media.
Studio and lifestyle shoots covering PDP galleries, scale references, detail shots and the in-context imagery collection pages need to sell.
Product descriptions, collection copy, landing pages and email design written against the same positioning as the ads driving traffic to them.
Results rolled up by concept, hook and format so you learn which angles work, not just which files did. Winners get iterated, losers get retired.
We do not work off a rate card. Every Portland engagement starts with a fixed statement of work — named deliverables, named dates, one number — written after we have looked at your store, not before. If a smaller first step would serve you better, we will say so.
Get this scopedWe read your reviews, support tickets and post-purchase survey responses. The best hooks are already written by your customers in their own words.
Customer language becomes five to eight named angles, each with a clear promise and objection to answer. Angles get tested before production scales.
Studio shoots, creator content and motion design produced in monthly batches so cost per asset drops as volume rises.
Assets ship into a structured testing calendar with consistent naming, so performance can be read by concept and hook rather than by ad ID.
Winning angles get new hooks, formats and cuts. Fatigued assets get refreshed before performance decays instead of after.
“Same four ads had been running since January and our CPMs climbed every month we left them up. They shipped about thirty assets in the first month, and the part that mattered was the tagging — we could finally read performance by angle instead of by file name. Fitment anxiety beat every discount ad we have ever run. We would not have guessed that in a hundred brainstorms.”
Thirty minutes with the strategist who would actually run your account. We screen-share your store, read your data live, and tell you the three highest-value things we can see from the outside.
