Why Columbus brands come to us for this

  • On-body imagery across a size range on the styles carrying the season, not a single sample-size gallery
  • Fit-answering detail capture — rise, waist placement, sleeve length, fabric movement — shot deliberately rather than hoped for
  • One production block feeding the product page, paid social and the launch email, with aspect ratios captured not cropped
  • Category-specific setups: macro and styling for candles and fragrance, in-frame scale and knurl detail for strength equipment
  • Shoot calendar planned backwards from your receipt plan, the August window and an October gifting start

Apparel imagery has one job most shoots quietly skip: showing the product on more than one body. A single sample-size model produces a beautiful gallery and a return rate, because the buyer who is not that size is left guessing. We plan shoots to cover a size range on the styles that carry the season, capture the details that answer fit questions — waist placement, rise, sleeve length, how the fabric falls when someone moves — and shoot the scale and texture references that a collection page needs to sell without a click.

Volume then has to come out of the same day. Creative fatigue on paid social sets in fast, and a brand producing a handful of assets a quarter is not competing with one producing a steady monthly cadence, whatever the media buyer does. So a shoot is planned as a production block against a brief that already names the angles: hooks drawn from review text and support tickets, static and motion covered in the same session, aspect ratios captured rather than cropped in afterwards, and every asset tagged so performance reads by concept instead of by file name.

Different categories need different rooms. Candle and fragrance work is close-up, texture and light — wax, wick, glass, the way a label prints — and it lives or dies on styling rather than model casting. Strength equipment needs scale references with a person in frame, knurl and finish detail at macro, and assembly or footprint content that answers the question a spec table cannot. Collegiate and fan product needs licence-compliant framing and a turnaround measured against a schedule, not a mood board. We brief those as separate productions rather than pretending one lighting setup serves all three.

Local context

Shot to a season, in a city with the crew to do it

Columbus is one of the few mid-sized metros where the production ecosystem an apparel brand needs already exists, because four national retailers built it: sample rooms, photo studios, stylists, fit models and technical designers who have worked real seasons. That changes how we run production here. Rather than importing a crew, we brief and art-direct against local capability, which means shoot days are cheaper to schedule and easier to repeat — and repeatability is the whole game when the media plan needs a steady flow of concepts. We plan the calendar against your season: main season shoot well ahead of the receipt plan so product page assets are ready when inventory lands, a compressed block in early summer for anything hitting the August campus window, gifting content shot by late summer for an October start, and equipment or strength content produced in autumn for January and the March event run. Shooting three weeks before you need the asset is how brands end up running last season's creative into a new season's traffic.

01

Creative Strategy & Concepting

Concepts built from customer reviews, support tickets and competitor teardowns, organised into named angles you can track performance against over time.

Twenty to forty static, motion and UGC assets a month in the aspect ratios each platform needs, structured for hook, format and angle testing.

03

UGC & Creator Sourcing

Creator briefing, sourcing and management for authentic testimonial, unboxing and demo content, with usage rights secured for paid media.

04

Product & Lifestyle Photography

Studio and lifestyle shoots covering PDP galleries, scale references, detail shots and the in-context imagery collection pages need to sell.

05

Store Content & Copy

Product descriptions, collection copy, landing pages and email design written against the same positioning as the ads driving traffic to them.

06

Scoped and quoted for your Columbus store

We do not work off a rate card. Every Columbus engagement starts with a fixed statement of work — named deliverables, named dates, one number — written after we have looked at your store, not before. If a smaller first step would serve you better, we will say so.

How it runs

From kickoff to results

01

Voice-of-Customer Mining

We read your reviews, support tickets and post-purchase survey responses. The best hooks are already written by your customers in their own words.

02

Angle Development

Customer language becomes five to eight named angles, each with a clear promise and objection to answer. Angles get tested before production scales.

03

Production

Studio shoots, creator content and motion design produced in monthly batches so cost per asset drops as volume rises.

04

Test & Learn

Assets ship into a structured testing calendar with consistent naming, so performance can be read by concept and hook rather than by ad ID.

05

Iterate the Winners

Winning angles get new hooks, formats and cuts. Fatigued assets get refreshed before performance decays instead of after.

Clients on this work

-24% cost per acquisition

“Same four ads had been running since January and our CPMs climbed every month we left them up. They shipped about thirty assets in the first month, and the part that mattered was the tagging — we could finally read performance by angle instead of by file name. Fitment anxiety beat every discount ad we have ever run. We would not have guessed that in a hundred brainstorms.”

FAQ

Creative & Content in Columbus — your questions

Both work, and locally is usually better for apparel. This metro has genuine studio, styling and fit-model capability because of the retailers headquartered here, so we brief and art-direct against local crew and you keep the sample handling in town. For smaller catalogues or non-apparel product, shipping samples to a controlled studio setup is often cheaper and perfectly fine. We decide that per production rather than by policy.

By being selective and by planning the day properly. You do not need every style at every size — you need the styles carrying the season shot on two or three bodies, with the rest covered by real measurements and clear fit copy. Casting more than one fit model into the same block, with the same lighting and set, adds far less than running a second production later because the first one did not answer the question.

It does, and the constraints have to be read before the brief is written. Licence agreements typically govern how marks appear, what context they can be shown in, what claims can accompany them and sometimes who may model them. We build the compliance requirements into the shot list rather than discovering them at approval, because reshooting a licensed range after a rejection is expensive and slow at exactly the wrong time of year.

You own the produced assets outright. Creator content is governed by the usage terms we negotiate per engagement — typically a defined paid-media usage period with an option to extend — and we document exactly what is licensed, for how long and where, so nobody discovers eighteen months later that a winning ad is running out of rights mid-season.

At $50,000 monthly spend, twenty to thirty tested assets is a sensible floor. Above $200,000 you want forty or more. The right number is whatever keeps a fresh concept entering testing before the current winner fatigues, which is typically every ten to fourteen days.

Both, and they do different jobs. Studio work covers PDP imagery, hero assets and anything needing controlled lighting or brand consistency. Creator content covers testimonial, demo and unboxing formats where polish actually reduces performance.

Yes, and we will flag where they conflict with performance. Guidelines written for print and packaging often forbid the text density and hook framing that in-feed video needs. We usually agree a documented paid-media extension of the brand system in week one.
