Marketplace Management in Phoenix, AZ

Phoenix brands already hold the cheapest fulfilment position in the West, which makes the FBA question — and most of the marketplace channel — a genuinely different calculation here than it is on either coast.

Delivered remotely for brands across Phoenix and Arizona.

Why Phoenix brands come to us for this

  • Vehicle compatibility data built into automotive and powersports listings, so buyers filtering by year, make and model can find you at all.
  • FBA priced per SKU against your own Southwest warehouse — size tier, storage months, return rate — rather than as one company-wide policy.
  • Heat-sensitive SKUs planned out of fulfilment-centre storage before summer, not after the first melted return.
  • Restricted-claim language removed from supplement titles and bullets at the cause, so suppressions stop coming back.
  • Marketplace pack sizes and bundles drawn so your Amazon listing is not the cheaper way to buy what your own store sells.

Most Valley brands did not decide to sell on Amazon. A distributor listed them, or somebody opened Seller Central three years ago to test it, and now a meaningful share of revenue moves through a channel with no owner inside the company. That revenue is real, and it is rented: the platform keeps the buyer, sets the fee schedule, and changes both without asking. We do not tell you to leave it. We run it deliberately as the discovery half of the business, with your Shopify store as the half that keeps the customer.

Listings come before spend, and Phoenix catalogues break in recognisable ways. Aftermarket and powersports parts arrive with internal SKUs for titles and no vehicle compatibility data attached, which makes them invisible to a buyer filtering by year, make and model — the only way anyone shops that category. Scottsdale supplement listings carry wording in the title or bullets that sits against Amazon's restricted claims rules and quietly suppresses the ASIN. Pool, patio and outdoor-living goods land in size tiers where the fulfilment fee is larger than the gross margin and nobody has run the arithmetic. And variations get built as loose orphans, so reviews and sales rank scatter across a dozen child listings instead of pooling on one parent that could actually rank.

Then the economics, which is where a Phoenix brand has an advantage worth using. Advertising gets judged on contribution per unit after referral fee, fulfilment cost and returns — not on an ACoS number with nothing behind it — and fulfilment gets decided SKU by SKU rather than as a company policy. The route home is unusually available here too: because so many brands in this metro pick and pack from their own floor in Tolleson, Goodyear or Deer Valley, the insert in a merchant-fulfilled box is yours to specify. That is a legitimate path to registration, warranty and refill on your own store. Harvesting buyer emails out of order reports is not, and we will not do it.

Local context

The FBA question is different when you already own the warehouse

Almost every Phoenix brand we look at is sitting on the input that decides this channel: cheap, well-placed industrial space with ground transit into Southern California, Nevada and the rest of the Southwest inside a day or two. That changes the fulfilment decision from the default answer to a real comparison. For small, fast-moving items, FBA still usually wins on conversion and Prime eligibility. For oversized pool equipment, patio goods and slow-moving seasonal stock, the size tier and the storage months can be worse than shipping it yourself from a facility you already pay for — and merchant fulfilment is the only version where you control the box. Heat makes it sharper: a fulfilment network that does not guarantee climate control is a poor place to leave anything meltable through a Valley July, which is a stock-planning decision made in April, not a customer-service problem discovered in August. Two smaller Arizona specifics sit underneath. The state's fixed clock means marketplace reports and settlement periods set to a DST-observing time zone drift an hour twice a year against your Shopify numbers, which is how reconciliation arguments start. And the demand curve runs backwards from the national one — cooling, hydration and indoor categories climb from May while national interest falls, powersports and patio wake up when the evenings do — so inventory sent into a fulfilment centre on a national seasonality template arrives at the wrong time in both directions.

The same standard of work we run for every client — applied to a Phoenix brand’s realities.

Full service detail
01

Catalogue & Listing Rebuild

Titles, bullets, backend search terms, variation parentage and category nodes rebuilt across Amazon Seller or Vendor Central, TikTok Shop and Walmart. Suppressions and stranded inventory fixed at the cause, not resubmitted.

02

Brand Registry, A+ & Brand Story

Brand Registry enrolment, A+ and Premium A+ modules, Brand Story and Storefront pages built to each platform's image and copy specs. Produced inside this service because the formats are fixed.

03

Sponsored Products, Brands & Display

Campaigns split by intent and margin band, converting search terms promoted to exact, negatives maintained weekly, and targets set from contribution margin instead of a category average.

04

Fulfilment & Fee Economics

FBA against FBM modelled per SKU on size tier, storage, return rate and reimbursement recovery. Some products should never enter a fulfilment centre, and we name which of yours.

05

TikTok Shop & Creator Seeding

Catalogue sync, listing compliance, sample seeding to affiliates, and live and video commerce, run as a mechanic of this channel rather than as a separate affiliate programme.

06

Channel Strategy & the Route Back

SKU allocation, MAP and pricing alignment, marketplace-only bundles and pack sizes, plus the permitted paths home: package inserts, Brand Registry tools and platform-allowed follow-up.

Scoped and quoted for your Phoenix store

We do not work off a rate card. Every Phoenix engagement starts with a fixed statement of work — named deliverables, named dates, one number — written after we have looked at your store, not before. If a smaller first step would serve you better, we will say so.

How it runs

From kickoff to results

01

Account & Catalogue Audit

Listing quality, suppressions, buy-box history, variation structure, the fee and returns reports and ninety days of search terms. You get the findings whether you hire us or not.

02

Fix the Listings

Parentage, titles, backend terms, imagery and A+ rebuilt before any spend moves. Advertising a listing that converts badly buys traffic for whoever else is in the carousel.

03

Draw the Channel Lines

Which SKUs sell where, at what price, in what pack size, agreed with you in writing. The marketplace should not be bidding against your own store for the same order.

04

Advertise to Margin

Sponsored campaigns rebuilt by intent and margin band, with ACoS and TACoS targets derived from contribution per unit after referral, fulfilment and return costs.

05

Compound & Route Back

Weekly search-term mining, monthly fee and reimbursement review, and the insert and registry mechanics that give a marketplace buyer a reason to reorder on your site.

FAQ

Marketplace Channel in Phoenix — your questions

For part of the catalogue, yes, and for part of it almost certainly not. Prime eligibility and the conversion lift are worth real money on small, fast-moving items, and it is difficult to match that with merchant fulfilment alone. But oversized goods, slow sellers and anything you turn once a year usually cost more inside a fulfilment centre than they cost on your own floor, and self-fulfilling is the only version where you control the packaging, the inserts and the customer experience. We model both against your actual dimensions and return data and split the catalogue accordingly.

It changes the plan, yes. Amazon does not guarantee climate-controlled conditions across its fulfilment network, and neither does a trailer sitting in a yard in July, so anything with a melt point, a stability temperature or a heat-sensitive dosage form should not be parked in third-party storage through the hottest months. The workable version is to shift those SKUs to merchant fulfilment for the season, hold cover shorter, and put the shipping condition into the listing rather than letting a customer discover it. That planning happens in spring.

Similarly in principle and very differently in practice. Amazon runs its own vehicle compatibility data and garage feature, and if your listings do not carry that data properly you are absent from the filtered results even when you have the right part in stock. It is a catalogue and data project, not a copywriting one — compatibility records, part type mapping and clean variation structure. Done properly it also cuts the wrong-part returns that quietly wreck margin in this category.

Our team, from Albuquerque — we have one office and no Phoenix presence, and anyone claiming otherwise about an agency this size is stretching it. In practice the distance is not the constraint people expect: Arizona holds standard time all year while we move with it, so we share your clock through the winter and start an hour ahead of you for the eight months in between. We take user-level permissions in Seller Central rather than shared logins, and the weekly work is catalogue, search terms and fee reports rather than anything that needs a room. We travel over for kickoff and for warehouse walkthroughs, because the fulfilment decisions above are much easier to make standing on your floor.

It can, and that is the failure mode we manage against rather than pretend away. Marketplaces are rented shelf space: the platform owns the shopper, sets the fees and can change both without asking. We use them for the thing they are genuinely good at, which is putting your product in front of people who have never heard of you, then arrange pack sizes, bundles and pricing so the reorder has a reason to happen on your own store.

Not directly, and treat anyone who promises it as a liability. Amazon does not give sellers the buyer's email address, and mining order reports to build a marketing list breaks their terms. The legitimate routes are package inserts offering registration, warranty or a refill incentive, Brand Registry tools such as Customer Engagement and Brand Tailored Promotions that reach your followers inside Amazon, and Buy with Prime on your own storefront where the economics hold. Slower, and it survives an audit.

Google and Meta buy traffic for a store you control. A marketplace is a sales channel with its own search engine, its own ad auction, its own fulfilment network and its own fee schedule. The reporting never reconciles with your Shopify numbers, the failure modes are suppression and buy-box loss rather than creative fatigue, and nothing means anything until the unit economics are modelled after fees.
